Guttermate - Rain water filter and diverter (Black) Guttermate is the only rain water diverter and rain water saver which diverts and filters the water before it goes in the water butt, and allows you to turn the diverter on and off by means of rotating the filter basket with an automatic cut off when the water butt is full. Cleaning the filter is a 30 second job. No physical effort or tools needed. Guttermate is made from Polypropylene and is available in colour-fast black or white to suit the colour of your drainpipe. Guttermate is supplied with the fixing screws and mounting bracket. There are 6 parts to the filter which are a slide fit into each other. The filter basket has 2 positions to allow the water to go down the drain or to be diverted into a rain water tub/water butt. There is an adaptor to allow the filter to be fitted to square drainpipes. Guttermate goes a long way to solving an age old problem associated with guttering and drainpipe systems on buildings. Six steps to a perfect installation 1. Measure the maximum height you want the water level to be in your water butt from ground level. 2. Add 119mm to the above dimensions and then measure that distance up the drainpipe from the ground level and mark that point on the drainpipe. Measure down from that mark the distance as indicated in the instructions for the type of drainpipe you have. Make the two cuts at the marked positions on the drainpipe. 3. Place the square to round adapter on the bottom piece of drainpipe if needed. Place the filter body onto the adaptor or directly onto the bottom piece of drainpipe. Place the filter top onto the filter body, make sure the filter body bracket is flat to the wall and the top piece of drainpipe is lined up with the top of the filter top. 4. Place the filter basket in the filter body, make sure the filter basket is lined up correctly and place the filter top on the body. If saving water, fit the joining hose to the elbow and fit the elbow to the filter body, be aware the elbow fits only in one of two positions. Connect the other end of the hose to the water butt. 5. It should look like this. 6. To clean the filter, remove the filter top, lift out the filter basket, empty the debris replace the basket making sure you position the basket correctly for your water saving requirements and replace the top Download installation instructions (PDF: 407KB)
