Mooncup (Size A)

Mooncup (Size A)

The Mooncup is a reusable menstrual cup around two inches long and made from soft silicone rubber. It is worn internally like a tampon but collects menstrual fluid rather than absorbing. Unlike tampons the Mooncup is not a disposable product, so you only need to buy one. The Mooncup will hold 30ml of fluid, which is roughly one third of the average total produced each period. A light seal is formed with your vaginal walls allowing your menstrual fluid to pass into the Mooncup without leakage or odour. You will probably find that you need to empty your Mooncup less frequently than you currently replace towels or tampons. The Mooncup menstrual cup contains no bleaches, deodorisers or absorbency gels. It does not interfere with your healthy vaginal environment, nor has it been associated with toxic shock syndrome. The smooth surface of the Mooncup allows the mucus membranes of your vaginal wall to continue their essential cleansing and protective functions. The Mooncup does not absorb your body's natural defence mechanisms and will not deposit fibres in your vaginal wall. The Mooncup will not cause irritation and is suitable for women with sensitive skin, thrush, eczema or allergy. For your safety the Mooncup is made from a special medical grade non-allergic silicone. Silicone is derived from silica which is one of the most abundant minerals on earth. The Mooncup is manufactured in the UK. The Mooncup can be cleaned in the same way as baby equipment: with sterilising fluid, or by boiling for five minutes in an open pan of water. Unlike pads and tampons the Mooncup menstrual cup is reusable, eliminating the need to carry bulky spares. With proper care your Mooncup will last for several years. Imagine the towels and tampons that you will be disposing of in landfill sites during those years! I've been using the Mooncup for three years and it has been fantastic. I have a very heavy flow and used to use 2 x super plus tampons at a time, and a pad as well, and I would still be in a mess in an hour for the first 2 days of my period. Apart from saving me a fortune, and not supporting pharmaceutical giants, it is much gentler on your body than tampons. Try it, it is really worth it. Which Size? Size A measures 46mm in diameter and 50mm in length. Size B measures 43 mm in diameter and 50mm in length. Both sizes have a pull stem 21mm long, which you can trim to the length that is right for you. Size A is recommended for women who have given birth vaginally or who have had a caesarean section and are aged 30 or above. Size B is recommended for women who have not given birth or who have had a caesarean section and are aged below 30. How easy is it to use the Mooncup menstrual cup ? Correctly inserted, the Mooncup is so comfortable that you will forget it exists. It may take a little practice at first as you need to find the angle and position that is right for you. Once you have perfected it you will be amazed at how simple the Mooncup is to use. You will need to empty, rinse or wipe and reinsert your Mooncup every four to eight hours depending on your flow. The fluid remains inside the cup, and the process is not messy or uncomfortable. The Mooncup can safely be used overnight and is great for all sports, swimming and travelling. Each Mooncup comes boxed, with one Mooncup, an organic cotton storage pouch and a detailed user guide.

Natracare Organic Cotton Applicator Tampons (Regular (16))

Natracare Organic Cotton Applicator Tampons (Regular (16))

100% organic cotton certified by The Soil Association Made from nothing but pure organic cotton, Natracare are the only fempro brand to carry UK5 organic certification Natracare Tampons are up to 100% biodegradable Totally Chlorine Free (TCF). Absolutely no dioxins produced in the processing of the cotton. Contains no perfumes, lubricants, colours, or synthetics. Why organic cotton tampons? Natracare tampons were developed as a direct response to health and environmental concerns about dioxin pollution caused by chlorine bleaching, the extensive use of pesticide spraying on conventionally grown cotton, and the use of rayon and other synthetics in tampons. Many women are unaware that rayon and rayon-cotton blends are widely used in the manufacture of tampons. Rayon is commonly chlorine-bleached, and is a highly absorbent fibre. Dioxin, a toxic carcinogen, is a by-product of all chlorine bleaching methods and is also found throughout the environment in varying levels as a by-product of pesticide spraying and pollution from incinerators. Dioxin has been found to collect in the fatty tissues of animals, including humans and should, therefore, be a real concern for women. Published scientific reports have shown that evidence is growing that even low levels of dioxins may be linked to cancer, endometriosis, low sperm counts and immune system suppression. Considering a woman may use as many as 11,000 tampons in her lifetime, she may be subjecting herself to additional dioxin exposure. Natracare tampons are made from only certified organic 100% cotton and are the only fully certified organic cotton tampons available in the world today. They are non-chlorine bleached and women can be reassured that they do not contain synthetic materials, such as rayon, or chemical additives such as binders or surfactants. Certified organic cotton removes the risk of direct exposure to residues from chemical pesticides and fertilisers used on traditional cotton. Tampons with Applicators The applicators have a rounded, petal-shaped end that makes inserting the tampon easier and more comfortable. The applicator is made from biodegradable card.

Natracare Organic Cotton Intimate Feminine Wipes (12)

Natracare Organic Cotton Intimate Feminine Wipes (12)

Certified organic 100% pure cotton . ICEA/IMO certified Soft and strong No chlorine No parabens or SLS or alcohol Not tested on animals Suitable for Vegans Why organic cotton wipes? For everyday freshness, during your period, or when travelling, Natracare certified Organic Cotton natural wipes, enriched with Calendula and Chamomile are gentle for cleansing delicate skin because Natracare only use ingredients derived from plants and never use the harsh chemicals and damaging preservatives used in everyday wipes. Choosing Natracare natural organic cotton intimate wipes allows you to avoid materials derived from petrochemicals, and skin irritating ingredients such as propylene glycol, phenoxyethanol, and formaldehyde releasing preservatives such as imidazolidinyl urea, which is the second most identified cosmetic preservative causing contact dermatitis according to The American Academy of Dermatology. Almost all wet and dry wipes available today are made from polypropylene (PP) or its cousin polyolefin, materials that are derived from petroleum. The wipes are usually embossed at low temperatures in order to make the wipe appear much thicker than it actually is. In this way, embossed wipes are being sold at a higher price because marketing people determine that the consumer will think it is a better quality wipe because it is thicker, and therefore, is willing to pay more for the privilege of using even more materials that will not biodegrade. It is not how thick a wet wipe pack is that is important to Natracare, but what the wipe is made from and what chemicals it holds that can potentially damage our bodies and the environment. Many people are now becoming concerned about the long term effects of using products that contain parabens because of the recent findings indicating a potential link to breast cancer . In the 1930's, scientists developed something that could preserve creams. Synthetic Methyl, Ethyl and Propyl Parabens were developed from benzoic acid. Researchers from the Department of Biology and Biochemistry of Brunel University in the UK have conducted a study and found that once these parabens are in our system, they stay in there. It is estimated that 99% of all cosmetic and body care products contain some form of the paraben preservatives. Other chemicals of concern that are commonly used in feminine wet wipes, as well as baby wipes, include the following: phenoxyethanol, propylene glycol, polyethylene glycol (PEG), sodium lauryl sulphate, isopropyl myristate, and formaldehyde releasing preservatives such as imidazolidinyl urea. Natracare Certified Organic Cotton feminine wipes with organic essential oils are free of the damaging and harsh chemicals used in other feminine intimate wipes. The ingredients we use are derived from plants and are certified organic by ICEA/IMO. Dermatologically tested on Human skin
